Triple Bad is a really cool, 9 year old, 16 hand, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. He has a great temperament and is by Siente el Trueno and out of a Western Cat mare. Triple raced 28 times and retired in 2024 with a small sesamoid fracture. He was able to get all his rehab and spend more than a year with the James River Horse Foundation in the care of Virginia DOC inmates before coming up to ATR to go back to work and find an adopter of his own.

Triple has a really cool, fun, playful personality that would make you think he was the same age as many of our youngsters. That said he's been good to handle, is barefoot, very sound, and our vet believes he should do very well in any non-jumping home. Even with the old fracture his fetlock joint looks healthy and he has great range of motion. He's also had over a year since racing and so "is what he is" in the absolute best way.

While Triple is ready to go back to work, winter weather limits our ability to get horses back into work as we don't have an indoor. With his personality we think he'd be a lot of fun as a project for someone looking for their next partner-in-crime in the pleasure riding, dressage, or even trail riding world. He'll likely do great with someone who enjoys doing ground work and setting the foundation for success under saddle.

This guy is a personality plus dude and if you're not interested in jumping more than a log to get from point A to point B on a trail, you could have a lot of fun together.
