Lugamo is an incredibly handsome, 4 year old, bay gelding who arrived by way of Beyond the Wire in Maryland. He is a Florida-bred horse by Chitu and out of a Service Stripe mare. This means he has Hennessy, AP Indy, and Deputy Minister all a few generations back.

This handsome lad raced just 7 times, including once in Dubai! He retired with a condylar fracture that has been repaired and rehabilitated prior to arrival at ATR. According to the surgeon's discharge papers, he could have returned to racing, so he should do very well in another career.

Unfortunately he hadn't been turned out yet during his rehabilitation time, which means his joint needs a bit of strengthening before he is ready to go back to work. In our experience, a month or two of turnout gets them there. He'd be available to the right home now that is willing to give him the time he needs to get back to 100%.

Lugamo was gelded recently, which is why he looks like such a stud muffin! He had an otherwise unremarkable vet evaluation and is not expected to have much in the way of future limitations. He clearly came from handlers and caretakers that put a lot of care into him. He loves people (almost a little too much) and clearly has rarely missed a meal as he looks phenomenal. He is still mouthy, but it comes from a playful side, not a malicious side. All the same, he needs an experienced handler who can continue to work on correcting the behavior. Otherwise, he's a very sweet boy.
