Description
Tua was adopted by Deanna in Virginia in July of 2022. Deanna is excited to bring her along with her daughter as their next hunter prospect and member of the family!
Tua is a 4 year old, approximately 16 hand, chestnut mare who retired by way of Beyond the Wire in Maryland. This Tapit granddaughter raced 19 times with her last race just 4 days before arrival. She hadn’t hit the board since last fall so it was time for her to retire and it looks like she retired in great shape. She had a pretty thorough evaluation at the track, and another on arrival at our farm. Our vet found her sound, clean, and she’s not expected to have any limitations.
Even just having raced a few days before arrival, she has been nothing but sensitive and sweet. She’s been a good eater so far and is currently turned out with a fairly large herd without any issues. She’s actually pretty independent in the field. She is front shod. We have seen her crib on her feed bucket at mealtimes, but not on anything else in her stall. A strap does stop the behavior.
Tua should be ready to go back to work soon. She’s such a good girl that we know she’ll do well and likely will be ammy friendly as well.
