Description
Yankee was adopted by Kathleen in Maryland in February, 2016. After a thorough vetting and multiple visits, Kathleen decided he was the horse for her. She hopes to bring Yankee along as her next event horse and we can’t wait to see how they progress as a team. Good luck, Yankee!

“Yankee” arrived in January from Penn National’s New Start program. Yankee is a coming 7 year old gelding that stands at least 16.1 hands. He is also one massively built Thoroughbred that seems much larger than he stands. Yankee is getting a lot of attention as is appropriate for a horse this handsome! In addition to looks, Yankee is proving a joy to work around. Despite getting gelded a bit late, he is lovely to handle, has no vices, and doesn’t seem all that interested in mares. He’s sweet, silly, and well mannered and it is clear he came from excellent care at the track.
Yankee retired with clean legs and no limitations. He recently passed a evaluation with our vet as an upper level prospect and is starting to get turned out with other geldings. We plan to give him most of February to continue settling in to life off the track and to enjoy being a horse before going back to work, but he is available now to someone experienced and appropriate for such a competitive prospect.
