Description
Bronx was adopted in September, 2017 by Monica and her father in upstate New York. Their plan is to give him a nice, easy winter and start his retraining in the spring by hacking out and easing him into his new career. While they enjoy jumping, they’ll let Bronx ultimately tell them what he likes to do. Can’t ask for a better partnership than that!

Spuyten Duyvil, a 4 year old, 16.1+ hand, bay gelding, arrived to After the Races in late August. “Bronx” was lucky to have caring connections in Team Valor International, who let him retire after only five unimpressive starts. This well-bred gelding by Arch brings a big presence into the barn while simultaneously having a very kind and friendly nature. He has been very professional to work with in the barn and seems to have a very happy-to-be-here way about him that belies his impressive size.
Bronx received a stellar evaluation from our vet upon arrival, presenting as sound and uncomplicated. He does have one osslet on his left fore which poses only a cosmetic question as the joint itself radiographs clean! Our veterinarian saw no reason to limit his future. Currently, Bronx is enjoying some time to settle into his new farm routine. He is turned out with one other quiet gelding and will soon join a larger herd.
Bronx will likely be an attractive project for professionals and amateurs alike as any barn would be lucky to have him. This big guy has no vices and is up to date on everything, just needs to start his retraining.
