Unionville Equine and Beyond the Wire Sponsoring the After the Races Gala!

After the Races is so excited to be able to share another public THANK YOU to two of our Silver Sponsors for our upcoming After the Races Gala. Unionville Equine has been After the Races' vet since 2011 and they have seen at least 860 retiring racehorses come through our program in that time. They have always maintained a high level of care, professionalism, ability, compassion, and integrity that ATR values in all of our relationships, but especially with our veterinarian. They have put a lot of faith in ATR to see us through this far, and we absolutely have total faith in their program as well. Thank you again for both being such an amazing partner over the years, and now one of our first Silver Sponsors for the Gala!

Beyond the Wire in Maryland is also one of our first sponsors for the event. They are another awesome Silver Sponsor and an organization that has a longstanding relationship with After the Races. In their own words they are a "first exit from racing program designed to facilitate safe and enriching placements for retiring Maryland based horses." They connect directly with Maryland's horsemen to help their retiring racehorses find placements with accredited programs like After the Races.

After the Races has worked together with Beyond the Wire to rehabilitate and rehome at least 250 horses to date. They are a big part of our support network and we are thrilled to have them as a sponsor for the After the Races Gala in September! And to see them there! For those not in the know, the After the Races Gala is expected to be the biggest equine charity event in the country in 2024. It will be held at Martin's West in Baltimore on September 6, 2024 from 8PM-12AM. People are flying in for this event!

This event came together when George from BW Unlimited Charity Fundraising got wind of After the Races' crisis as the farm they had called home for 7+ years was being sold from underneath them. This event will not only help ATR in securing and building up a permanent home for the organization, but it will also set us up for a recurring, annual event that will help launch ATR to the next level. After the Races has been chomping at the bit to expand their operation, and we expect to do just that when we purchase a forever farm of our own. Not only do we expect to at least double the stall capacity on the farm, increasing our space and facilities for horses in rehabilitation as well as retraining as we prepare them for adoption, but we hope to start an educational program, with interns coming to beautiful Fair Hill, Maryland from all over the country. Beyond that, a long-term dream of our director is also to start a trauma recovery program for veterans, first responders, and civilians, using our versatile Thoroughbred racehorses for that purpose.

For more information on how to become a sponsor or get involved, email Grace at gracef802@gmail.com. Grace can help you with reserving tables ($1100/table of 10) as well as setting up a sponsorship for the event (all of which come with some amount of tickets or tables).
