Description
Poppy was adopted in June of 2022 to be a pleasure and family horse with Dayna and her family in Virginia. We’ve had reports she’s settling in well and been very quiet. We can’t wait to see how she enjoys hacking around in the foothills of Virginia. Lucky girl.
Walk It Out Nanny, “Poppy,” arrived in March from Beyond the Wire in Maryland. She’s 5 years old, about 16 hands, and has lovely build that looks uphill on first impression. She raced 20 times and is retiring due to not being competitive.
This girl is by Super Ninety Nine (by Pulpit), and out of a Sea of Secrets mare. She’s actually a half sister to two previous ATR horses, both of which were dolls to work with.
Poppy had a great vet evaluation. She's very sound with no known limitations. She did have a fracture repaired in one pastern earlier in life that she went back to racing on without issue and our vet says should not limit her future in any way.
Poppy is turned out with mares, geldings, and a mini without issue. She has no vices and has just been started back under saddle. She has been VERY happy to go back to work and seems like a horse who will thrive with a new job. She’s stood well for the mounting block so far and has a lovely trot. This is a forward thinking mare who will be a lot of fun for the right rider. See some video below.
