Tom's Choice is a lovely, 7 year old, 16.2 hand, bay gelding who was given to After the Races by his owner due to financial reasons only. Tommy was a nonwinner of 6 races, and after racing entered a lovely program where he was developed in dressage and over fences. Tommy is an in-your-pocket horse. He's incredibly personable and sweet and thrives on attention.

As described by his past owner, Tommy was kept in consistent work and is solid on the flat with beautiful connection. She says he jumps small courses with lead changes and schooled cross country. He's also done hunter paces and loves trails, but she thinks he really shines in dressage! Tommy is ready for his next partner, especially one that primarily rides out of their seat and leg, which he's beautifully trained on. Like most Thoroughbreds, he wants a rider with soft hands. With a quiet, confident rider he could really go in any direction!

Tommy is by Laoban and out of a Grand Reward mare. This means he carries some greats like Uncle Mo, Indian Charlie, Speightstown, and more in the first few generations. While he didn't run on the turf, he's built like a turf horse with big bone and a lot of substance.

Tommy is turned out with other geldings here without issue. He's independent and happily lets other horses be the boss in the field. Tommy's only vice is that he does crib, but it is controlled with a dare collar which will go with him to any future home.

Once we put a few rides on him, we will set his adoption fee. It will reflect his training, size, and wonderful temperament.
