Description
Simmard Shenanigan was adopted in November of 2022 by Lauren in Maryland. Lauren hopes to bring her along as her partner in low level hunters one day. For now she's giving her plenty of time to be a horse before she has to go back to work. We can't wait to hear how they do!

Simmard Shenanigan is a recent arrival from Beyond the Wire in Maryland. She’s a 6 year old, 17.0 hand chestnut filly. She retired after her 54th race at the end of August, making her a warhorse! She is a granddaughter of Dixieland Band and has his presence.
Upon her vet evaluation our vet said the biggest hurdle she faced were her feet which came to us in poor shape (extra long toes, squashed heels). Thankfully we have an excellent farrier and they've already come a long way in just two shoeings. She's in regular steel fronts at the moment. Nothing fancy, but she will need a good farrier to continue the progress we've made.
Simmard was sound for her evaluation otherwise and has continued to be sound. She does have some mild changes to her fetlocks but our vet was not overly concerned about them limiting her future. She has just finished her let down time and is slowly being started back into work.
Simmard has been good to ride both in the round pen and in the ring after some acclimatizing. Unfortunately, she has been very slightly off to the left (and only to the left - sound in straight lines and to the right). After some diagnostics our vet believes she has a bone bruise on her left front condyle region of her cannon bone that just needs a couple more months of downtime to heal. So while she's been good under saddle, she'll be getting at least 60 days turnout before rechecking.
She's still available in the meantime to an appropriate home willing to give her some time off. She's certainly worth it!
Simmard is available now for $2,000.
