Shrimp Biscuit is an adorable, little, 2 year old, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Beyond the Wire in Maryland. Shrimp Biscuit stands at 15.0 hands on the nose, on his tippy toes, with shoes on! At just 2 years old, he certainly has some growing to do but it's doubtful he'll set any records for height. This little boy is by Editorial and out of a Denis of Cork mare. That means he has Warr Front, Arch, Dixieland Band, Harlan's Holiday, Grand Slam, and actually a lot of cool stallions in his pedigree.

Shrimpy did not race, but did have 5 recent workouts which were not particularly impressive unless you consider how small he is! We expect it was in consideration of his size and his performance in his workouts that his connections decided he would be better suited for a career other than racing. We appreciate them for that!

So far this little guy has been incredibly sweet, just a little jumpy as he gets used to the comings and goings at After the Races. This will certainly settle now that we can turn him out. He had a great evaluation with our vet who found him sound, clean, and absolutely adorable.

He has no expected limitations on his future and could likely go in any direction. He is just 2, so he will need an experienced adopter with patience and a good sense of humor as that's a requirement for working with babies! Our most common question about him so far is how big we think he'll be when he stops growing. We unfortunately do not possess a working crystal ball. He's a bit butt-high and has a couple years left to grow. While we think it'd be unlikely he'll reach or exceed 16 hands, stranger things have happened and we can't make any guarantees!
