Sailing Rock was adopted in April of 2023 by Regan in Kentucky. Regan was looking for a prospect for eventing and dressage and we can't wait to see what they do together!

Sailing Rock is a 9 year old, bay mare that retired by way of Aftercare Charles Town. She actually retired in February of 2022 after racing 30 times. This West Virginia-bred mare is by Rock Hound (by Seeking the Gold) and out of a Will's Way mare

When she first came to ATR she had some minor changes to her left front ankle that were still fresh, causing her to be sore. Both the vet at the track and our vet agreed she just needed time for things to settle before going back to work, so we actually sent her to be an embryo transfer mare for a year before returning to ATR.

She's now back at ATR ready to rock and roll into her new career. She's sound and friendly and has no vices. We have just started her under saddle and while she's very green, she's figuring things out. We'd love to see her go to someone who likes to do a lot of ground work, bonding, and confidence building in addition to riding. She has no physical limitations otherwise.

Sailing rock is barefoot and is turned out with mares and a gelding without issue. She's pretty low in the pecking order and just gets along nicely with whoever she is out with.

The photos posted here are from her first time at ATR. She's currently sporting more of a winter coat and is working her way back to that shiny spring bod.
