Read the Spec was adopted in May of 2023 by Silvia in Pennsylvania. Silvia adopted another horse Bovary a few years before and enjoys working with her horses primarily on the flat, doing dressage, and bonding.

Read the Spec is a 3 year old, 16+ hand, bay gelding that came to us by way of Beyond the Wire in Maryland. He is by Speightster and out of a Medaglia D'Oro mare and you can see the breeding in how classy he is!

Read the Spec ran just 5 times. His last race was in December of 2022 and a quarter crack stopped him from racing more recently. He arrived to ATR looking like he's in great shape. Our vet found him sound and clean. Our farrier could see where he had a quarter crack that's mostly grown out, but it shouldn't hold him back at this point as long as he stays in front shoes.

We turned Read the Spec out with another gelding and two mares and he settled right in. He strikes us as a fun, blank slate that should make a lovely project for someone. He's available now to a home willing to restart him themselves. If not adopted sooner, we'll be letting him down til June before we put him back to work.
