Queenie was adopted by Sarah and her family in Virginia in February of 2022. She joins their other horse King as the new Queen of the farm. Sarah and her family are a forever home for which we are very grateful.
Queen of Angels, or "Queenie," is a beautiful, late 3-year-old, bay filly who came to us by way of New Start at Penn National. Queenie is unraced but was in training as a three year old. Her connections, who are very thoughtful, retired her early without any reported injuries. Queenie is by Lookin at Lucky and out of an Uncle Mo mare.
Since retiring, she's been evaluated by two vets, one at the track and one here at ATR, both of which agreed she was sound, fancy, and should have no future limitations. Queenie has no vices, and gets along well with other horses in turnout. She still has the energy level of a racehorse some days, but is mostly settling in very well to the farm. She's a sweet girl who will make an experienced horse person a fantastic partner.
We think Queenie could legitimately go in any direction. She's ready to go back to work, we just haven't been able to due that here yet due to weather and lack of footing/indoor at our farm. She's available now to someone with appropriate experience to get her restarted!
