Description
Phil was adopted in March of 2023 by Shauna in Pennsylvania. Shauna was looking for a new all-around partner and pleasure horse and we know Phil is going to be a great match for her.

Original post:
Phil is a coming-6 year old, NY bred, chestnut gelding that came to us in partnership with Second Call in New Jersey. Phil is a grandson of Maria's Mon, and great-grandson of Dehere, AP Indy, and Smarty Jones (thankfully the last one was clearly watered down with subsequent generations).
Phil arrived to us as a 5 year old stallion that worked his way around the auction circuit. After a quarantine period he came to ATR ready for a proper evaluation and castration. Throughout quarantine, his caretaker remarked on how wonderfully behaved he was, and even turned him out with his older gelding after he was in the clear. Upon arrival to ATR he was turned out with some geldings here for at least a week before he was castrated. You would never know this horse was intact at all if you met him.
Phil has been quiet, kind, and easy. He is such an amazing, lovely horse that he will make someone very, very lucky.
This guy does have some pretty huge osslets on his front fetlocks but the good news is that radiographs show remarkably sound joints and he is VERY sound on them. The only reason he might not make a jumper is just due to these osslets limiting his range of motion. His adopter shouldn't otherwise think twice about the largely cosmetic appearance of those fetlocks. It's really quite impressive.
Phil has had several rides now with us at ATR and he is absolutely lovely. He loves to work, is very comfortable, and has the nicest lope for a horse right off the track. Check out the videos below to see for yourself. He definitely has the temperament and ability to be very amateur friendly and a great pleasure/trail horse for one very lucky adopter.
