Description
Opie was adopted at the end of October by Briana in the DC area. She is excited to bring Opie along in hunter/jumper style and also hopes to aim him toward the 2018 RRP.

Original post:
“Opie” is an adorable 4 year old, 15.3 hand bay gelding that retired through Maryland’s Beyond the Wire program. He was trained and raced by a friend of After the Races and had a great start on life which shows in his in-your-pocket personality and kind temperament.
Unfortunately, Opie suffered a small sesamoid fracture toward the end of his career but the good news is, after his rehab is complete, it should pose no hard limitations. Opie was just cleared for full turn-out in September after being nothing but sound and meeting all his milestones since day 1. He should be ready to go back to work mid-October. Current expectation is that he’ll be able to do anything but the highest level of competition, which should leave him suitable for the majority of adopters!
While he does crib indoors (hasn’t yet in turn-out), we can’t say enough nice things about this horse. Opie has quickly become a barn favorite due to his temperament and love for every human he meets. He also came from great connections who continue to check in on him and even visit from time to time.
