Description
Diego was adopted in March of 2017 by Libby in Carlisle, PA. Libby is looking forward to working with him to bring him up as a nice pony club mount for her niece and as a low-level horse possibly to event or do a little jumping with. We know he’s going to be in good hands and can’t wait to see how he progresses!

“Diego” is an 8 year old, 16.2 hand war horse from Penn National’s New Start for Horses program. He raced an impressive 65 times, earning $140,360 and retired with remarkably clean legs in spite of such a long career.
Like most war horses, Diego might have some wear and tear but his veterinary evaluation at our farm went very well. He presented very sound and with good range of motion and pretty clean legs. Our vet was very happy with how he looked and thought he could move on without much in the way of limitations. Will he make an upper level eventer? Maybe not, but he really is more of an amateur friendly horse. This horse is very kind and trusting and would likely make a phenomenal partner for someone.
Diego is currently getting turned out with a senior citizen on our farm and they seem to be a good fit for each other. He has no vices and would fit in very well into any barn.
