Description
News Makin was adopted in August of 2023 by Lisa in Delaware. News is joining another ATR graduate Lookin Back in their forever home with Lisa, her family, and her students. We are so happy for both!

Original post:
News Makin is a 2003, bay mare who recently arrived by way of Aftercare Charles Town. She raced 21 times, mostly at Charles Town, with her last race in 2009. She is a granddaughter of Danzig and a quarter of her pedigree is British and French, to add a little flair to her history.
News Makin has had at least 7 foals (the ones that show up on Equibase without paying for a report), and will be eligible for the Thoroughbred Makeover's new broodmare division if that's what she and her adopter wants to do.
For being 20 years old, News Makin arrived in excellent condition. Our vet, vet techs, staff, all adore her. She's super sound, super quiet, and super sweet. She has a very attractive build, is in great flesh, and they think will make a phenomenal riding horse for someone open to an older, classy lady for a mount.
We did have some teeth removed due to EORTH but she still has plenty left and this won't impact her ability to eat, etc. In fact we have her on a diet because she's just SO good at eating! Good news is she also tested negative for Cushings, so that's not something you have to worry about yet.
We have been riding her and she is lovely. Tries very hard and is pretty laid back. Would make a lovely partner for someone, and don't let her age fool you. She's healthy, sound, and probably has many good years of riding left in her!
This mare is eligible for the Thoroughbred makeover and clearly has a lot left to give to one very special home. Please don't let her age-related tooth condition write her off for your consideration.
