Description
New York One is a 4 year old, 16.3 hand, bay gelding who came to us by way of Beyond the Wire in Maryland. This sweet boy is by Big Brown and out of a Silver Deputy mare. He raced 21 times, with is last race at the very end of 2021. He hadn’t been very competitive in many months and it was time to retire. “Neo” went to surgery after he retired to be castrated and also had a very minor chip removal in one knee. His recovery was textbook and he’s now turned out with a group of geldings, enjoying being a horse.
Neo is a playful, sweet, kind horse who has no expected limitations in his future. He is sound, barefoot, and has no vices. He did come to us incredibly underweight, with ulcers, and with a skin condition. His ulcers have been treated and cured (scoped to be sure!), his skin is now healthy, and he’s just working to put on more weight. He’s otherwise ready to go back into work, but we’re enjoying watching him put the pounds on.
