Murray D found his new home with Jessica in the summer of 2026. Jessica was looking for a chill horse to do some trail riding with and possibly in the future be a horse her daughter can ride.

Original Post:
Murray D is an 11 year old, approximately 16.2 hand, bay gelding who came back to us recently from an adopter through no fault of his own after nearly 8 years in his previous home. He has settled in very quickly to life at ATR and is a real sweet boy. He loves being groomed, stands great on the cross ties and eats all the treats he can get!

This grandson of Storm Cat never did race, but was in training as a 2 year old many years ago. He is sound, though came back to us with some feet in rough shape which we're working on improving. Murray does have an old sesamoid fracture that healed many years ago and has a history of being in work for most of the last 8 years. Our vet said he could go on to do just about anything including jumping and competing without concerns!

We are still getting to know Murray under saddle after his time away. We've been told he's done some hunters (including up to 2' jumping), some light cross country schooling, and even some polocrosse training, though not all in recent history. He's had at least 6-9 months off most recently after his adopter was in a car accident. He needs refreshing and he needs conditioning, but he's off to a great start with the rides we've had on him so far. Right now he is a bit unbalanced at the canter (though it's comfortable), but otherwise so far has been straightforward. Experienced riders and trainers will have fun with him!

Murray does seem to crib, but this is fully controlled with a cribbing collar. Someone with electric fences who enjoys turning their horses out should likely not even have to worry about it. He's certainly worth considering!
