Mason Mason is a 9 year old, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Beyond the Wire. This guy is a true warhorse having raced 59 times with his last race mid-November. He is by Animal Kingdom and out of a Dance With Ravens mare, meaning he has a cool pedigree!

Mason was with the same connections his entire career after being purchased as a yearling. It was hard to let him go as he was such a pleasant presence in the barn. Reportedly his trainer would put his kids on him when they'd visit from the track, and Mason was also entrusted to help teach new track-riders the ropes.

He had a great intake evaluation with our vet who found him sound. She thought he had an excellent prognosis for a riding career and could go in any direction. He was gelded here at ATR at the end of February and has fully recovered so is ready to look for his new partner and new home!

Mason has been very easy since arrival. Even intact, he was never mouthy and he loves to be groomed and loved on. He's been getting turned out with two geldings without issue and is very friendly. He goes out with one very dominant gelding (who Mason respects beautifully) and one submissive gelding (who he enjoys hanging out with).

We hope with weather improving that we'll be able to start getting him back under saddle around mid-March and will update once we do. He should do well in an experienced home though, and may even be ammy-friendly for an adult amateur who boards and works closely with a trainer. Definitely one to take a chance on! We're pretty sure the first person to come visit him will fall in love.
