Description
Mio is one of the truly lucky ones who seems to have found a lifelong home with adopter Judy who hopes to be bringing him along in dressage and eventually retire together many years down the road. We’re very excited for him and can’t wait to see how he grows and develops!

Mio is a surprisingly large, bay, 2 (coming 3) year old gelding who arrived through Monmouth Park’s Second Call program at the end of October. Soldier never raced but does have recorded workouts on record, which means he will be 2018 Retired Racehorse Project eligible.
This big guy, standing at least 16.3 at 2 years old, seems to have a kind temperament. He retired after straining a tendon, but there is almost no profile or thickening. On his second vet checkup on 12/6/17 he was cleared for small turn-out and the veterinarian said there was a tremendous amount of healing between his first scan two months ago and the recent one. He’s optimistic the rest of his rehab will be smooth sailing.
The most recent checkup on 1/5/18 showed a very sound horse ready for full turn-out. He should be able to return to work soon as well with no limitations. This guy would be a fantastic prospect for a serious competitor in just about any discipline.
