Messy Lu has found her new home! Ari can't wait to meet her and looks forward to getting to know Lilu this winter with eventual goals of eventing/dressage.

Messy Lu is a very pretty, 4 year old, 16 hand filly that came to us in partnership with Beyond the Wire in Maryland. This girl raced 8 times and never broke her maiden and her connections chose to let her explore a new career rather than pushing her. She is by Done Talking and out of a Sait Liam mare which means she has some cool horses in her pedigree: Broken Vow, Dixieland Band, Rahy.

Lilu arrived a little over a week from her last race and looks very clean and very sound. Our vet agreed and thought she had a bright future ahead without any known limitations. She didn't have a stitch of excess weight or fat on her when she stepped off the trailer, and we're working to put some pounds on her.

Lilu has no vices and is very sweet and super curious. On arrival, she gave us the impression that she was a bit "looky," but now that we've gotten to know her it's really that she wants to have a good look at things she's unsure about so she can process it and then move on with her life. We think she's actually going to mature into a very brave, intelligent mare.

When the weather is amenable, we are starting to put Lilu back into work. She's definitely a green bean but never feels unsafe. She is very kind, willing, and eager to please. She will be a lot of fun for someone with the right experience, comfortable bringing a green OTTB along. She's also a very elegant, beautiful mover with all the potential in the world to pursue a career in any discipline.
