Malibu Billy is a 4 year old, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Beyond the Wire in Maryland. He only had one start in 2023, and he won, but he bowed a tendon then or shortly after. He came back to training and just wasn't running as strong as they'd like, so his connections decided to let him go on to a new career.

He was sound for his evaluation at the track, but the track vet thought his distal sesmoidian ligaments might need to be looked at with an ultrasound. We'll certainly get our vet to do a thorough work up of him before we decide what direction he should go in.

Billy is by Free Drop Billy and out of a Malibu Moon mare, as one might expect. This means on his sire's side, he has some greats such as Union Rags and Giant's Causeway. His dam's side of course features Malibu Moon which largely speaks for itself.

Billy has been settling into the farm so far without event. He has shown no vices, and will be evaluated by our vet soon!
