Kid's Rock was adopted in August of 2026 by Elle and her parents in Maryland. They plan to take their time with him but ultimately have dreams of doing hunters with him one day when he's ready. We're very excited for him to go to such a great family!

Kid's Rock is a big (nearly 17.2 hands!), 4 year old, dark bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. Kid's Rock is a 4 year old and sticks at 17.1 1/2 hands. While Kid's Rock is unraced but did have race training. His reason for retirement was reported as "too big to race," and once we met him we could see why! He is huge!

We have been letting Kid's Rock enjoy some downtime to be a horse and settle into life on the farm. He is currently tuned out with a group of geldings and loves hanging out with his buddies. In spite of dwarfing his field mates, he's very gentle and lets one of the (much) smaller horses be the boss. Our vet evaluated him on his arrival and found him to be clean, sound, and good to go in any direction. We were told his breeder has one of his full brothers as her event horse and she would have kept this big guy as well if her husband would consent to keeping another!

Kids Rock is barefoot and has no vices. He's easy in turnout and easy in a stall. He has a kind, sweet temperament combined with a bit of a worried eye. We've enjoyed watching that worried expression soften as he settles more into life at ATR. He should make a really fun project for someone who enjoys a giant horse as much as they enjoy taking their time with him. While he's already quite large (over 1400 pounds), he likely still has a little bit of growing left to do.

Kid's Rock is available now to someone with appropriate experience who is comfortable restarting him themselves. He's definitely worth the effort!
