Just Whistle was adopted in February, 2024 by Christa, which now makes her a repeat adopter! Christa is looking forward to having a new dressage partner and all around horse.

Just Whistle is a 8 year old, 16.1 hand, big-bodied, bay gelding who came to us directly from owners who had him for two years off the track. This impressive horse placed in multiple graded stakes races and came from Michael Matz' stable when he retired. He originally went home with a good friend of ATR who simply can no longer keep him.

Reportedly her son rode him often and everywhere, including around the "neighborhood" and did a lot with him in terms of riding for fun, though he is a strong horse. We do not know of any past injuries and expect he should have an unlimited future.

Just Whistle sold for $190,000 as a yearling at Keeneland, and went on to do quite well as a racehorse. He is by Pioneerof The Nile, and out of a Street Cry (IRE) mare, which is impressive enough. For those unfamiliar with his breeding, he has some cool sires in his pedigree including Empire Maker (a personal favorite of our director), Machiavellian, and AP Indy.

Whistle has no vices that we've seen, is front-shod, and currently turned out with another gelding. Our vet evaluated him and said he is "super sound" and should do great in any discipline.
