In High Gear is a very big, 8 year old gelding who came to us in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. He retired after an impressive 40 starts as he became less competitive over time. He has some great breeding for sport as he's by Denis of Cork (by Harlan's Holiday) and out of a High Brite mare.

He is still in fact in high gear as this guy is very fit and on the muscle! He'll be evaluated by our vet shortly, but he jogged sound on arrival and had already had his shoes pulled, so we felt comfortable turning him out with a friend. This should help him settle in and settle down quickly.

We will post more once he's seen by our vet and as we get to know him, but we're hopeful he has a bright future ahead.
