LOCATED IN PURCELLVILLE, VIRGINIA

Handsome Boy is a 10 yr old, 16.1 hand bay gelding by Lion Hearted. He raced 28 times and was bred and owned by a friend of After the Races, so he was always in good care.

He was at ATR in 2022 and did well with some long lining and light riding that we did with him at the time. He was since adopted but is looking for a new home due to rider health and herd dynamics. He does best turned out with dominant horses, and is currently doing well turned out with 3 other geldings.

Handsome Boy has great feet. He's barefoot and stands great crosstied for the farrier. He can be touchy to groom but has getting better. Consistency goes a long way with helping him relax and settle in to his routine. Due to rider health he's currently being lunged about three times a week but is not currently under saddle. Handsome Boy is an incredible quality horse with unlimited potential. He just needs an experienced rider/trainer to get him going under saddle again. He was a favorite of our director when he was here. Sitting his canter is like cruising along on sofa - just so comfortable. He was a favorite of his exercise riders at the track for the same reason.
