Golden Appeal is the definition of a warhorse. He is a big, gorgeous, 16.3 hand, 9 year old gelding that came to ATR in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town after he raced 63 times! Golden Appeal is by Successful Appeal and a grandson of Malibu Moon. His last race was in February of this year.

Golden Appeal had a break in his career in 2021 when he had a condylar fracture repaired. After successful rehabilitation from the surgery, he returned to racing and raced consistently from the summer of 2022 til his retirement. On a visual first impression, his legs look pretty darn clean for a horse with so much history!

Golden Appeal has been sweet and easy to handle since arrival and has no vices. Our veterinarian loved him. She said the fetlock with the repair looked pretty good, nothing going on in the joint, and that he has an excellent prognosis for just about everything outside of upper level eventing. She thought he'd make a really cool fox hunter or adult amateur eventer but he could go in any direction!

He's currently getting much deserved down time but is available for adoption to the right home!
