Description
Flirting was adopted by Katherine in March, 2024. Katherine is looking forward to retraining Flirting towards a hunter/jumper future.
Original post:
Flirting is a 2020, 16.2 hand, bay filly who recently arrived by way of New Start For Horses at Penn National. Flirting is a very nice filly by Hoppertunity and out of a Fairbanks mare. This means she carries Distorted Humor and Giant's Causeway in her pedigree as well. She was purchased as a 2-year old in training for an amazing $120,000. Someone really thought she had promise!
Unfortunately for her connections, she seemed to just get slower with each subsequent race, and they let her go after just four starts in which she never hit the board.
She's only just arrived, but so far we've observed no vices and she was good for the farrier. Our vet liked Flirting a lot. She was slightly off on one fetlock and our vet believes she's most likely still sore from racing recently. We did do radiographs of the limb in question and she saw nothing limiting in the radiographs, just suggested we turn her out for 30 days, recheck, and then put her to work.
She's available now though to someone willing to give her some time and take a chance on her as is to save in adoption fees.
