Flaherty was adopted in December by Jessica in Virginia Beach. Jessica is a pleasure rider and is so looking forward to having Flaherty as her next partner. She's already reported he's been very good under saddle and they're off to a great start!
Flaherty is a California-bred, 4 year old, chestnut gelding that came to us by way of Penn National's New Start program. He retired after just 8 races, never breaking his maiden. Unfortunate for his connections, but hopefully good news for his next home!
This guy is by Haynesfield, out of a Perfect Soul (IRE) mare, which means he sports Speightstown as a great-grandsire. He retired with a cracked shin that has fully healed and he is SOUND. These injuries generally heal very well with no limitations on the horse's future, so he is definitely one to pay attention to.
Flaherty is currently on full turnout now and is very easy going in the field with other horses. No drama. He also has no vices and is easy to handle and work with. People routinely comment on how lovely he is to work with. A real doll who enjoys a good snuggle with anyone willing.
Flaherty is ready to go back to work starting in December and has no expected limitations. He is a nice mover (hope to get video soon), barefoot, and one of the soundest horses in our barn.
