Summer was adopted in December of 2023 by Kaili in NY. Kaili is a repeat-adopter having adopted another Aftercare Charles Town horse, OnTheStraitAnArrow. She's excited to add Summer to her family's small herd, and hopes she'll one day grow into a horse her daughter can enjoy as well. As sweet as she is, we know she'll do great!

Enjoy Summer is a NY-bred, 3 year old, chestnut filly who arrived in October by way of Aftercare Charles Town. She retired after just 8 starts, with her last race at the end of September. This beautiful filly is by Kitten's Joy and out of a Giant's Causeway mare. Her pedigree and looks must have stood out even as a yearling, when she sold for $47,000.

Summer retired with a crack in her shin, a pretty common racing injury that does very well once it heals. She is nearing the end of her 60 days rest and will begin small paddock turnout in early December. Typically they go in the small paddock for 30 days and then are ready to resume turnout. We expect she'll be ready to go back to work in or around mid-January.

Summer has a great brain and temperament, even with being confined. She currently goes for 15 minute walks daily and is very well behaved, no chain required. She'll likely be one to consider for amateurs and professionals alike. We know she's sure to stand out in a show ring one day if that's your goal!
