DrinkWithTheStars is a coming 7 year old, 16.1 hand, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. He is a very cool gelding with classy breeding, being by Windsor Castle and out of a Dixie Union mare. "Cosmo" raced 21 times and after racing traveled down to the James River Horse Foundation where he spent a year in the care of Virginia DOC inmates.

Cosmo had a wonderful intake evaluation with our veterinarian. While he has some changes in the upper joint of his knees, he has great range of motion, is very sound (even barefoot!). Our vet thought he'd do very well in any non-jumping career.

While Cosmo is ready to go back to work the winter weather greatly limits our ability to work with horses, but we did manage to get one ride in with him! He has a nice forward way of going and played around with going on the bit/carrying himself in a little frame. We think he'd do great in a pleasure home, dressage home, even potentially an active trail home. It has been awhile since he was consistently in work so would do best with an experienced handler who can give him a good restart and build up basics with him.

If you're that person who enjoys a project, he has a lot to offer. He's barefoot, has no vices, and is currently turned out with mares and geldings without issue and is a bit low in the herd hierarchy.
