DrinkWithTheStars is a 6 year old, 16.1 hand, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. He is a very cool gelding with classy breeding, being by Windsor Castle and out of a Dixie Union mare. "Cosmo" raced 21 times and after racing traveled down to the James River Horse Foundation where he spent a year in the care of Virginia DOC inmates.

Cosmo had a wonderful intake evaluation with our veterinarian. While he has some changes in the upper joint of his knees, he has great range of motion, is very sound (even barefoot!). Our vet thought he'd do very well in any non-jumping career.

While Cosmo is ready to go back to work, winter weather greatly limits our ability to work with horses as we don't have an indoor. We think he'd do great in a pleasure home, dressage home, even potentially an active trail home, but needs an experienced handler to start him out with some consistent groundwork before getting back under saddle as it's been a while since he was last ridden.

If you're that person who enjoys a project and taking a horse back to basics and building them up, he has a lot to offer. He's barefoot, has no vices, and is currently turned out with mares and geldings without issue and is a bit low in the herd hierarchy.
