Don'tCallTooEarly is a big, 16.3+ hand, 6 year old, bay gelding who came to us in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. He is a bit of a warhorse after running 46 times and reportedly retired sound! This sweet guy is by Real Estate and out of an Our Emblem mare. This means he's a great-grandson of Storm Cat and Mr. Prospector.

Don'tCallTooEarly, in addition to having a name I can relate to, has no vices and is currently turned out with a mare and a gelding. He had a great intake evaluation with our veterinarian. After racing 46 times, his legs aren't perfect visually but joints all have good range of motion and he's very sound. While she gave him a great prognosis for his next career, she said his conformation may be limiting at the most upper levels.

Don'tCall was a bit thin on arrival and a little standoffish at first, but we're starting to see his personality come out now that he's been getting handled daily and treated for ulcers. He seems like a big, sweet gelding who will just appreciate someone who takes things slow and spends time bonding with their horse and building trust. While he's working to put on weight and while we're treating him for ulcers he's going to continue getting quiet let down time.

He's available now to someone with reasonable goals and who has the experience to bring along something recently off the track. If not adopted sooner, we hope to start him back under saddle in October.
