Courageous Mission is a very handsome, coming-4 year old gelding who came to us in partnership with Beyond the Wire in Maryland. This New York bred is by Mission Impazible and out of a Courageous Cat mare. He retired in December, soon after his last of 11 races. He never did win a race and it was time for him to look at new careers.

From day one, Courageous Mission has been a very good boy to handle and work around. He's easy to catch, enjoys grooming, and is great for the farrier. He has no vices at all, is front shod, and is currently turned out with another gelding with no issues. He has a wonderful temperament and is very easy to have in the barn!

He had a great intake evaluation with our vet who found him very sound. We know he had chip removal surgery over a year ago, was fully rehabbed, and went back to race on it successfully, so our vet does not expect it to be very limiting outside of upper level eventing. Basically anyone with reasonable goals should consider him!

Our ability to ride in the winter is very limited but we managed to get in one quick ride on this guy between freezes. He was good for mounting and very happy to walk all around our large round pen on a loose rein. He doesn't yet understand what leg means as far as kicking him along, so he did a little trot, but only enough for us to evaluate his temperament. He never put a foot wrong, just didn't understand the leg straight off the bat, and would likely do much better with it in an arena setting where he has more room to move!

Courageous Mission is available to someone with experience bringing along greenies or ones right off the track, though we think once he figures out leg, he's going to be a really fun project to bring along.
