Bondurant was adopted by Julie in Maryland in June of 2022. Julie is excited to bring him home first as a companion and pet with the hope he’ll one day grow into a trail and low level dressage horse.
Bondurant Boy is a coming-3 year old, 16.1+ hand, chestnut gelding that arrived to us via Aftercare Charles Town in January of 2022. Bondurant Boy is unraced but did have a registered workout on 1/14/22 which makes him eligible for the Thoughbred Makeover, for those interested. This boy is very well bred, being by Flatter and out of a Lion Hearted mare. This makes him a grandson of AP Indy and great grandson of Storm Cat and Dehere. Very classy breeding on this boy, and it’s obvious that he’s been well handled his entire life as he’s a doll to work with. He loves people, loves attention, and has been no trouble for us to handle, walk, or treat during his rehab. Even our kid volunteers could take him to the wash stall and groom him despite being a 3 year old on stall rest!
Bond is turned out fully now, after completing rehab for a slab fracture, with the associated fragment being removed entirely. He was the perfect patient throughout his rehab and is now turned out in a group of geldings in a big field. He will be ready to return to work soon. He has been very sound and so far has done well barefoot! Due to the fragment being removed rather than repaired he’ll likely do best in a flat-only home but the vets believe he will have no limits in dressage and other disciplines that don’t involve much jumping beyond a log on the trail or a caveletti here and there.
We cannot overstate how lucky someone will be to adopt this horse. He is so nice, handsome (his photos do not do him justice) and kind for being so young.
