Description
“Ponzi” is a 7 year old, 16+ hand, bay gelding by Kipling that ran 24 times before retiring through Monmouth Park’s Second Call program. Since arrival, he has consistently proved handsome and well-mannered. He left such an impression on his original owner that they went back and claimed him when they saw him running in $5,000 claimer races, just to retire him.
Ponzi is sound and incredibly sweet, though does have an osslet that may or may not prevent him from being an upper level horse. Time will be the answer to whether or not he’ll make an upper level jumper, but we believe he will do great in low to mid-level work! We’ve seen horses with similar radiographs go on to do quite well in hunters and even eventing. Radiographs are certainly available to be shared with serious inquirers.
We’ve only had a handful of rides on Ponzi so far due to our time constraints. He is green, but very honest about what he knows and tries to please. He is very laid back under saddle and has perfect barn manners. He is RRP eligible for 2018.
Ponzi is currently available to an experienced adopter for $500 through November. This will increase with training.
