Army Cadet is a 4 year old, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Beyond the Wire in Maryland. He raced 16 times fairly consistently with his last recorded workout being in mid-January. He is by Army Mule and out of a Midnight Lute mare and was born in Canada!

This handsome guy retired sore and during his intake evaluation our vet discovered he had some recent stress to his third carpal bone (though no fracture), and a very small, unexciting chip that's likely old and unrelated. She said he should get a couple months of stall rest and then re-evaluate but she expects him to have a terrific future ahead with little or no long-term limitations.

Army Cadet was cleared for some turnout in April and we hope to re-evaluate him soon to see about a return to work, though he may need a couple months turnout to be a horse before we reach that point. Rads are available to approved adopters for consideration. We'll update again after he's had his next evaluation!
