Abbot was adopted in December of 2025 by Heather in Virginia. Heather enjoys dressage, some jumping and pleasure riding and is so excited to bring Abbot along as her next partner. We got reports that he settled right in to his new home and we can't wait to hear how they grow together!

Abby's Spirit is a 5 year old, 16.3 hand, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with New Start out of Penn National. He raced 24 times with his last race at the end of August. This Pennsylvania bred gelding is by Golddigger's Boy (a son of Jump Start) and out of a Lite the Fuse mare.

"Abbott" retired sound, just in need of time to unwind and let down. He's shown no vices and has been lovely to work around since he arrived at ATR. He had a great evaluation with our vet who said he should have no limits on his next career.

Abbott has been good for the farrier and vet. He has been very good to handle on the ground and has been turned out with both mares and geldings without any issues (he's pretty low in the pecking order). He has the temperament on the ground to be amateur friendly and we've just started getting some rides on him. While a bit looky his first ride, he was very good for his second ride and we expect it to be onward and upward from there.

He should do well with someone with experience working with OTTBs and could still be amateur friendly if adopted by someone patient that will enjoy the journey and work closely with a trainer while he gets going.
