Heartbreaker was adopted in Aprril of 2016 by Sophia in Northern New Jersey who is thrilled to have a youngster to bring along after the loss of her lifetime horse Ethel. She sends us frequent reports and we know Heartbreaker is doing well, getting lots of hands-on attention and enjoying life with Sophia to the fullest.
“Heartbreaker” is a lovely 2 year old filly by Defrere, and actually one of his last foals to be born before retirement. She turns 2 officially April 9th and was given to ATR by a very caring owner who is getting out of racing and wants to see his remaining horses go into good homes with new careers. This filly is perfect, with beautiful legs, great conformation, and lovely movement. Her breeder expects her to be at least 16 hands with a nice build though you might not see that for three years!
Heartbreaker should have no limitations but is only 2 years old and NOT BROKE TO RIDE. She needs an experienced home that will give her time to grow up prior to really getting her in training. Until she is adopted, our plan is simply to get her accustomed to tack and taking a light-weight rider around the farm quietly at a walk/trot so that she’s ready for someone else to take on.
