Nixon is a 7 year old, flashy chestnut gelding who is a bit on the smaller side at 15.1 hands. Nixon is calm, quiet, and exceptionally sweet. He would likely make a great lesson horse or child’s horse after some schooling, or would also make a great mount on trails or in the dressage ring.
Nixon has been ridden by teenagers at the walk, trot, and canter and has also trailered over to an indoor a few times. Nixon has also done several group trail rides and crossed water, bridges, and maneuvered lots of tricky debris and has been a champ! He has even been ridden Western once and had absolutely no objection to it. He’s a pretty sturdy guy as long as he’s got his routine and with a little schooling could make a fantastic hunter or trail horse for a lucky person. Nixon trailers great, stands very well for the farrier and vet, and has NO vices. We have just introduced him to cross rails and he has hopped over logs on the trails and certainly has nothing holding him back.
Nixon has no limitations at this time and will make someone an amazing riding partner. We have even taken him to a horse owners workshop to talk to the public about adopting retiring Thoroughbred race horses and he was a stellar ambassador for his breed, standing patiently tied for hours with his buddy despite nearby traffic and getting constant attention from children and adults alike.
He is currently available for adoption at $750.
His photos are currently somewhat out of date but we plan on getting some new ones soon. He’s actively being ridden and is ready for a new home!
