Contesa is a 4 year old, 16 hand, bay mare. She is not only more gorgeous than her photos do her justice, but also incredibly sweet. Contesa came to us with a condylar fracture in her right front. After several months stall rest and rehabilitation, the condylar fracture healed very well. She is on a normal schedule, being turned out as much as possible, and in during the heat of the day. She lives with both mares and geldings and does great.
We were hoping Contesa would be ridable upon the completion of her rehabilitation. And while her condylar fracture did heal quite well, she was never QUITE sound when ridden. X-rays showed a chip in her ankle we were unaware of and we suspect it is what causes her the slight discomfort. Despite having a riding career put on hold, she does still have a lot going for her. This mare is beautifully put together and VERY classy! She would make an excellent broodmare for sport horses, dressage, warmbloods, or other athletic TB crosses. She does not come with a copy of her papers, but is tattooed and registered.
As well as a broodmare, she would make a nice companion mare. She is beautiful, sweet, up to date on everything, great for the farrier and vet, and a very easy keeper.
